The Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Palliative Care Services Rides Again!
Join us As we cycle to raise money for all Hospice and Palliative Care services across Ontario! September 23rd, 2022.
For the past ten years, we have participated in the “Healing Cycle Ride,” a vital fundraiser that benefits all Ontario Hospices, including ours. With 100% of funds raised by hospice teams going to their hospice, this is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake Community PalliativeCare’s biggest fundraisers of the year.
Our small team has been the top-ranking organization for the past several years. Affectionately named “The Pedal Pushers,” we raised over $30,000 last year. Our major donor, ‘the Hummel Family,’ matched our donations up to $25,000, which increased our total to $60,000, the highest raised by our group!
These funds continued to allow us to provide all our services FREE of charge to the community. They also assisted us with new programming, particularly our Psychosocial Consultant for Palliative and Bereaved Clients.
For 2023, the Healing Cycle Ride is going to be outstanding. Here is where you come in. We are inviting “Teams” of riders to join us on Saturday, September 23rd, for our “Hummel Family Pedal Pushers Challenge.” We invite all businesses in Niagara-On-The-Lake to join our ride to help us raise money and beat last year’s total.
If it is in your heart to donate to a very important crucial service in your backyard, please look into the services on this website. It is a very worthwhile donation as our services are constantly evolving and our client base is consisting growing. You never know when you or someone you know will need our services. You better believe we WILL be there; you are not alone.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Palliative Care is raising funds this year to help establish a new program called “Ben’s Compassionate Community.” This program will see our service support all people living with a progressive life-limiting illness. We believe that strokes, congestive heart issues, renal failures, COPD, Alzheimer’s, and certain arthritis conditions could benefit from more support through equipment lending, transportation services, and volunteers for companionship and respite. We would continue the services for as long as requested, free of charge as always.
If putting together a team isn’t possible, you can still contribute by raising funds within your business for this fundraiser. Alternatively, your name or business logo can appear on our T-shirts with a $500 or more corporate donation.
Go to The Healing Cycle to donate securely through the portal. Remember, donations can be doubled due to the Hummel Families’ generous matching incentive, allowing us to beat our previous year’s total. A tax receipt will be provided for every donation at the time of donation. We also accept cheques.
If your business would like to participate in this amazing life-changing fundraiser, don’t hesitate to contact us for more information. You can call us or email notlpc@bellnet.ca. All donations must be in by September 13th to be included on our T-shirts.
